Organizational settings, including for-profit businesses, political organizations, not-for-profit organizations and public and private boards, are dynamic entities, which rely on skilled leaders to function efficiently and to ensure positive workplace cultures and climates.

You will gain the leadership skills essential for today’s managers. This interdisciplinary program draws from business, industrial/organizational psychology, public administration, industrial sociology, educational leadership and more to provide you with an understanding of interpersonal workplace dynamics and leadership fundamentals.

Graduate Programs

Human factors deals with a large range of applied topics — like product design, human performance and human error, human-machine and human-computer interaction, interface design, safety and ergonomics.

Graduates of our program have found rewarding employment in diverse fields, including software and web usability, product development, consulting, public safety, healthcare, nuclear power, surface transportation, aviation systems and research.

Applicants for a Master's degree in Psychology/Human Factors must possess an undergraduate degree in psychology or a field related to human factors (e.g., computer science, design, engineering). The College of Graduate Studies (COGS) requires a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Applicants to the distance program may apply throughout the year. However, accepted applicants can only start the program in the fall or spring semesters.
