University Committees
Purpose of Committees
The effective operation of faculty governance at the University of Idaho depends on the willingness of faculty and staff members to take an active role in university-level committees.
Membership for most committees begin in the fall when the academic year officially starts. The Committee Directory in FSH 1640 contains the statements of the function and structure of each university-level standing committee. Below you will find the list of people appointed to serve on most of the committees, appointed by the Committee on Committees. The lists below include the current year and prior year memberships. Some committee memberships, that are not appointed by the Committee on Committees, are not listed below (ex: Provost’s Council, University Level Promotion and Tenure Committee, etc.). If you have questions about any committee, you may contact the Office of the Faculty Secretary.
Roles of Chairs and Members
Information about the function, structure, membership and regulations governing committees, as well as guidelines for committee chairs, were developed by the Committee on Committees as suggestions for the effective handling of committee business and clarification of certain minimal requirements of these committees.
