The Career Center sponsors several special events that are associated with the Fall & Spring Career Expo’s. These events are great ways to market your company and to meet and talk with UI students. If you have questions about these events or would like to sponsor or attend an event, please contact Jamie Garlinghouse, 208-885-6122 or firstname.lastname@example.org
“Dine with Style” Etiquette Dinner:
(Spring Semester Only) The purpose of this event is to teach students basic dining etiquette skills so they are prepared for professional dining situations. Companies can sponsor a table at this event which includes having a company representative serve as table host and the companies name included in the program and on the table. Table hosts will be seated with UI students where they will have a chance to try out their etiquette skills while networking with students.
Vandal Networking Night:
(Fall Semester Only) Vandal Networking Night is designed to give students a better perspective about the importance of networking in their professional careers. A panel of UI alumni will share their networking experiences and provide advice to students. The panel discussion is followed by a reception where students will have a chance to mingle and make networking contacts with the panelists and other employers in attendance.
Student Mock Interviews:
(Fall Semester Only) Mock interviews are designed to provide honest feedback to students on their interviewing skills and suggestions for improvement. We ask employers attending the Career Expo to volunteer their time to help students learn how they can make good impressions during interviews and to prepare them for the upcoming Expo. If your company is attending the Fall 2008 Career Expo and would like to send a representative to participate in this important event, please contact Jamie Garlinghouse, 208-885-6122 or email@example.com
