Schedule Format

Choose either a Pre-Select Schedule or an Open Schedule based on your needs.

  • Open Schedules: The Open Schedule option allows all qualified students who meet your specific criteria to sign up immediately through Hire A Vandal on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Pre-Select Schedules: This type of schedule allows you to review and select from the resumes of interested students, which students you will interview.

Promote Your Visit

The Career Center will e-mail students and academic departments about your visit as well as post fliers on campus. You can also purchase an advertisement with the school newspaper, The Argonaut, to promote your visit.

Class/Student Group Presentations

The Career Center can also facilitate contact between employers and faculty or student group leaders. If you are interested in speaking at a class or student group meeting during your visit, please let us know and we will help you make contact with the proper individuals. Please allow plenty of time to notify faculty if you are interested in speaking to their class.

Information Sessions

If you are interested in having an information session on campus the night prior to your interviews, let us know. We can assist with arrangements and will publish the details online for students to view. NOTE: There may be fees associated with reserving a room on the UI campus.

The Interview Day

You can choose from 30-minute, 45-minute or 60-minute interview time slots beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. Employers can choose all-day, morning only or afternoon only schedules as well to suit their needs. Special arrangements can be made for employers who need to interview before 8 a.m. or after 5 p.m.

Follow up with us

We want your visit to be a successful one. After your visit please let us know how we can improve on our services to employers. The Career Center is also interested in knowing how many students you hire from the UI. At the end of the recruiting season we will send you a placement survey to help us find out where our students are accepting jobs and internships. You can also fill out the survey or e-mail us at at any time with placement data. This information is valuable to our office and is used for statistical purposes only.
