Winter Break Vehicle Storage and Overnight Parking

In order to allow for proper street clearing, overnight parking (2 a.m. to 6 a.m.) is NOT allowed on university or city streets within campus boundaries during the winter break, this includes all Purple and Silver permitted on-street parking areas. View the Academic Break Vehicle Storage Map which highlights streets where overnight parking is restricted, and areas where vehicles may be parked overnight or stored during the break. On-campus residents who will be leaving their vehicle on campus must store it in a Silver or Purple off-street parking lot.

Anyone who lives off campus who will be leaving for an academic break, and leaving their car in Moscow, may park for the duration of the break in any regular Purple or Silver surface parking lot, as shown on the Academic Break Vehicle Storage Map. No permit is required, vehicles without permits need to be relocated prior to 6 a.m. the first day that classes begin. Vehicle owners park at their own risk, the University of Idaho is not responsible for any damage or theft of personal property. Vehicle storage is not allowed on campus streets, only in surface parking lots. This policy is intended to assist the City of Moscow with clearing snow from city streets during the break, vehicles parked on the streets are an obstruction to snow removal.
