Sidewalks and Entryways

When one inch or more of snow accumulates on campus sidewalks, the Facilities sidewalk crew will be dispatched to begin snow removal operations. Efforts are made to keep sidewalks, steps, entryways, and disability ramps clear of snow and ice throughout the entire working day. Priorities for clearing of sidewalks and entryways are as follows:

• Main arterial sidewalks, bike paths and walkways
• Secondary and tertiary sidewalks
• Steps, entryways, and disability ramps

• Exterior stairs across campus will be reduced in size in order to decrease the overall amount of stairs that need to be cleared; stairs will be reopened when possible during clear weather. Alternate routes of travel are available and are encouraged to be used in order to ensure safe travel across campus.
