Western Algebraic Geometry Symposium

Tuesday, September 2 2014

The Western Algebraic Geometry Symposium traces back its origin to the Utah - UCLA Algebraic Geometry Seminar started in 1989 by H. Clemens, D. Gieseker, M. Green, J. Kollár, and R. Lazarsfeld. Later on, it became the Utah - UCLA - Chicago Algebraic Geometry Seminar.

WAGS meets twice per year and congregates an international group of more than 70 mathematicians, from students to experts in the field of Algebraic Geometry.

This year's symposium will be held October 11-12 and is organized by UI faculty Alex Woo, Stefan Tohaneanu, and Hirotachi Abo, and Boise State faculty Zach Teitler.
