UI-Dance Program Selected to Perform in ACDFA Gala Concert
Tuesday, April 8
Twenty students and two dance program faculty recently represented the University of Idaho at the American College Dance Festival Association Northwest Conference held at the University of Montana in Missoula. While at the conference, nine students were involved in the adjudicated presentation of "that moment when..." a work choreographed by faculty member, Melanie Meenan in collaboration with the dancers. This worked received exceptional feedback from three internationally known respondents – Bebe Miller, Zvi Gotheiner, and Susan Douglas Roberts – and was invited to perform in the Gala Concert that concluded the conference. Forty-two dance works presented by colleges from around the region and nation were adjudicated, but only 10 works received this honor. UI dancers received standing ovations for their Gala performance.
The following dancers deserve recognition for their dedication to this work and strong representation of the UI-Dance Program: Charena Branscum, Jordan Lynn, Matthew Maw, Zachariah McCormack, Shaudralyn Parry, Madeline Paterson, Alexandra Sipe, Lauren Smith, and understudy Taylor Rogers. Congratulations.
