U-Idaho Launches National Search for Law Dean

A national search for the Dean, College of Law has been launched. The dean is the academic leader and chief executive officer of the College and is responsible for furthering the role of the College in the Strategic Plan of the University Idaho. The dean is responsible for fostering distinguished records of scholarship, teaching, and service in the College’s two locations and in university-wide programs in which the College participates; providing sound administrative leadership; engaging with the Idaho State Bar on matters relevant to the law and legal education within the state; maintaining relationships with the judicial, legislative, and executive branches of the state, the American Bar Association, and the Association of American Law Schools; promoting and sustaining relationships between the college and the university community and its stakeholders; facilitating faculty governance; overseeing the allocation and use of resources and facilities assigned to thecollege; and raising funds for the advancement of college programs and resources.

Screening of applications will begin on Nov. 3, 2013. Preliminary interviews are tentatively planned for January with campus visits in February.
