Tinkham Receives Prestigeous NASA Fellowship

Monday, May 9 2011

Wade Tinkham, a natural resources doctoral candidate studying forest resources, was selected as a NASA Idaho Space Grant Consortium fellow and will receive $15,000 in funding. Tinkham will use the funding to pursue research into the influence of spatial diversity in vegetation and terrain on how snow is deposited and repositioned in a semi-arid mountainous landscape.

"The fellowship will allow me to expand the scope and scale of my study,” says Tinkham. “With insight as to how snowpack impacts water availability, this research will help improve drought mitigation strategies.”
