, professor of conservation social sciences, presented a keynote address titled, "From Interpretation to Protection–Is There a Theoretical Basis?", at the National Association for Interpretation Conference. His address summarized the state of current research in cognitive and behavioral psychology relating to persuasive communication and environmental behavior. Nearly 800 federal and state land management agencies, universities and non-governmental organizations from across the U.S. and several other countries were in the audience. The event marked Ham's 50th conference keynote since 1976.
