Peterson, Cooney recognized at Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day

Two University of Idaho employees were recognized during the Idaho vs. San Jose State football game, designated by Vandal Athletics as Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day.

Steven Peterson: Instructor and Research Economist in the College of Business and Economics.

He is a life-long Idaho resident and has been employed at Idaho for more than 17 years. His research specialty is local and regional economic analyses. Steve has completed more than 30 studies, among which are economic impact studies in health care, energy, wood products, education, arts, agriculture, Tribes and Vandal Athletics, during his career.


Chris Cooney: Senior Director of Marketing for the University of Idaho

Cooney was the University’s leader on the rebranding of the University of Idaho through the “Legacy of Leading” campaign developed by DaviesMoore of Boise, Idaho. Additionally, he helped develop and create the first strategic marketing plan for the University of Idaho, which includes his work with DaviesMoore on the now highly recognizable “I am more than…” advertising and promotional campaign. As the senior director of marketing, he leads the University’s external and internal communications and marketing efforts. He also played a role in assisting Vandal Athletics and Advantage Advertising in the development of the 2010 football marketing campaign, which resulted in record season ticket sales.
