Nominations for the 2013 Outstanding Employee Awards, Staff Educational Awards, Outstanding Team Award, and the Lawrence McBride Prize are now open and due by Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013. The Outstanding Staff Awards honor U-Idaho non-faculty staff members who are doing an outstanding job in the areas of quality of service, exceptional effort, initiative and interpersonal relations.
Award recipients will be recognized at the 41st Annual Staff Awards Reception scheduled for Monday, April 15, 2013 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the SUB Ballroom. We will also be honoring employees who have retired within the past year as well as recognize staff for longevity of service to the university in five-year increments with the Longevity Awards.
The nomination forms as well as the criteria for each category can be found on the Staff Awards website located at www.uidaho.edu/staffawards
Please take a moment and make your nominations to help recognize the outstanding people at the University of Idaho.
Established in 1972, the awards encourage more support and recognition of staff for their dedication and hard work over and above their job descriptions on behalf of the university. Outstanding Employee Awards are given in each university staff category, including: exempt; secretarial or clerical; technical or paraprofessional; service or maintenance; and skilled craft. The number of awards given is based upon the number of employees. Each recipient is presented with a plaque and a $500 check in recognition of their outstanding services. The Larry McBride Prize recognizes an exempt employee who has demonstrated creativity, enthusiasm, the highest performance standards and exemplary service to the university. The recipient is presented with a plaque and a check. The Outstanding Team Award recognizes a group of employees that has shown exceptional teamwork on one-time or unique non-routine projects. The team members are presented with plaques and a check. The Staff Educational Awards are given to children, grandchildren, stepchildren or legal dependents of full-time, board-appointed staff members or honored retirees. Three students receive a certificate and an approximate $500 scholarship for the next academic year. The McBride Prize, Outstanding Team Award and Educational Awards are funded through endowment earnings.
