Irene Ryan Audition Showcase

Fourteen students from the University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts have been selected to compete for acting scholarships awarded by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. The national theater program will honor 16 students with Irene Ryan Acting Scholarships worth $500 each. Students will compete against nominees from 51 regional institutions. Before heading off to the Fort Collins, Colo., competition, they will present their auditions to the Palouse.
The department will host the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Audition Showcase 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in the U-Idaho Hartung Theater. Admission is free.
Nominees were chosen by KCACTF respondents based on performance evaluations during fall productions at U-Idaho. Each nominee is required to present two scenes and a monologue during in the regional competition. Scenes and monologues are chosen by the nominee and another student with whom they will partner.
