In Memoriam: Maynard M. Miller

Professor and Dean Emeritus Maynard M. Miller passed away on Jan. 26, 2014, at his home in Moscow at the age of 93. Dr. Miller was dean of the College of Mines and Earth Resources from 1975 to 1987. Among his many achievements, he was the senior geologist on the first American expedition to Mount Everest and served three terms in the Idaho Legislature. Dr. Miller was the founder of the Juneau Icefield Research Program, the longest-running study of any glacier in the western hemisphere.
