MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival announces a 2014 partnership with Frontier Communications. Frontier will serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the Saturday evening concerts during this coming jazz festival Feb. 19-22, 2014.

The Saturday evening concert is the festival’s biggest night, and it will feature the Lionel Hampton Youth Jazz Orchestra with special guests Jason Marsalis, National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Jazz Master Benny Golson and up-and-coming star saxophonist Grace Kelly. The closing headliner is nine-time Grammy Award-winner NEA Jazz Master Eddie Palmieri and his Latin Jazz Septet.

“Frontier Communications, like the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, is committed to bringing business and culture to towns large and small,” said Steven Remington, executive director of the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. “We both connect students, teachers and residents. When Frontier Communications learned that we hadn’t had a Saturday evening sponsor for several years, they wanted to step up.”

Frontier Communications has been named a presenting level sponsor.Remington said sponsorships are important to the festival to bring in quality, talented artists who work with students in classroom settings and on stage. By having sponsors, the festival can pour more energy into the student experience while providing great artists on the stage to entertain the whole region.

“Sponsorships are especially important for events that involve many stakeholders in a region, as they increase the capacity of the organization, and inform the resource expenditures of the business community into those areas that are important to a community,” said Remington. “This sponsorship will help shine the light on what students are capable of doing and why the arts are so important.”

Frontier Communications is an S&P 500 company offering broadband, voice, satellite video, wireless Internet data access, and security solutions for residential and commercial customers. For medium to enterprise businesses, Frontier also offers state of the art data networks and world class PBX solutions. Although Frontier is included in the Fortune 500 list of America’s largest corporations, they are well known for their local engagement and support of the communities they serve.

“Frontier is proud to support the areas we serve and the culture that makes them thrive. The Jazz Festival is one of those events that brings a community together and that’s what we are about – connecting people,” commented Michael Towne, Frontier Communications, vice president and general manager. “We are pleased to support the community that supports us.”
