Five UI Faculty and Staff Receive International Professional Development Awards

The UI International Programs Office is pleased to announce that five University of Idaho faculty and staff members have been awarded University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) Faculty/Staff International Development Awards. These awards allow UI faculty and staff members to attend a 3-6 week summer, 2014 USAC culture and language program in various countries around the world and provide opportunities for professional networking with faculty and staff at the host institutions. In addition to receiving a tuition free placement in the program, awardees receive a $2,250 stipend to offset international travel and living expenses.
This year’s awardees include:
Kelli Schrand (Martin Institute): San Sebastián, Spain
Shannon McGowan (Modern Languages and Culture): Alicante, Spain
Brian Hopper (Counseling and Testing Center): Bilbao, Spain
Morgan Hanson (University Housing): Heredia, Costa Rica
Helen Brown (Movement Science): San Ramón, Costa Rica
