Distinguished Visiting Writer: Steve Almond

Acclaimed author and Distinguished Visiting Writer Steve Almond will read from his work Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the College of Law Courtroom. Sponsored by the Department of English and the MFA Program in Creative Writing, the event is free and open to the public.

Almond is the author of the short story collections "The Evil B.B. Chow" and "My Life in Heavy Metal" and the nonfiction book "Candyfreak: A Journey through the Chocolate Underbelly of America." He is the coauthor (with Julianna Baggott) of the novel "Which Brings Me to You" and the essay collection "Not that You Asked."

Almond also will teach a graduate level workshop in the MFA Program the week of Oct. 19-23.
