College of Education Professor Awarded Prestigious Honor

Jeffrey Brooks, department of leadership and counseling professor and chair, recently was awarded a 2013 American Educational Studies Association Critics Book Award for his book “Black School White School: Racism and Educational (Mis)Leadership” (Teachers College Press, 2013). The book is among a select group of 31 recipients. The AESA is a society primarily composed of college and university professors who teach and research in the field of education. Each year an AESA committee selects titles it regards as outstanding books that may be of interest to those in educational studies as a way to recognize and increase awareness of recent scholarship deemed to be outstanding in its field.
