Margaret Littlejohn, National Park Service Visitor Services Project (VPS) director in the CNR Park Studies Unit, presented, “The Visitor Services Project after 20+ years” on Nov. 20, 2010 at the National Association of Interpretation conference in Las Vegas, Nev. The presentation apprised National Park Service and other interpreters of the VSP's work and shared data from the more than 20 years of VSP visitor surveys in the national parks.
Littlejohn gave the same presentation on Jan. 7 at the National Parks Promotion Council (NPPC) marketing research summit in Yosemite National Park, Calif. Audience members included a diverse group of national park employees, national park concessioners, partners and advocates, and subject matter experts. Her presentation will help NPPC’s strategic efforts to improve the way national parks are marketed to the public, especially younger generations.
