Commencement Information for Idaho Falls Faculty

We are looking forward to University of Idaho Commencement in Idaho Falls at 7 p.m. Mountain time Monday, May 20, at the Bennion Student Union Building, and we hope you plan to attend. 

Who Should Attend

The platform party will be limited to members who have an active role in the ceremony. All others will sit in the reserved faculty seating areas. Deans from each college with programs on the Idaho Falls campus are encouraged to attend. Faculty are also encouraged to attend and congratulate their students.

Regalia

Faculty may order regalia online. The deadline for ordering faculty regalia is April 14.

Faculty Line-Up/Processional

Faculty members attending the commencement ceremonies should report to the Bennion Student Union Building, dressed in regalia by 6:30 p.m. Mountain time. Signage will direct faculty to the appropriate location for line-up. The procession will begin approximately at 7 p.m. Mountain time.

Ceremony

After opening remarks, guest speakers, medallion awards, honorary degrees and recognition of honors, students will approach the stage to receive their diploma cover. Faculty who are hooding a doctoral candidate will approach the stage from the opposite direction, perform the hooding, pause for a photo and then return to their seats.
