Commencement Accessibility
Yes, the Kibbie Dome will have a number of U of I student staff members on hand to assist with seating needs.
Yes, a limited number of wheelchairs are available to assist with guests reaching seating areas. However, due to the limited number, we are unable to provide wheelchairs for the duration of the service. If your mobility needs require the extended use of a wheelchair, please plan on bringing your own.
There will be designated wheelchair accessible platforms available. The platforms will be restricted to individuals in a wheelchair and one attendant. Seating on the platforms will be first come, first served with no reserved tickets. Overflow areas will be made available if these designated platforms reach capacity.
Due to safety concerns, this is generally not allowed. U of I – Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) will provide a drop off area as close to the doors as possible.
U of I – Parking and Transportation Services will attempt to accommodate all visitors displaying a legal Handicapped Parking Tag in specially designated parking areas. However, due to space limitations, these spaces will be available on a first come, first to be served basis.
