Stephan Flores specializes in British literature, 1660-1815. His scholarly and teaching interests include drama, the novel, critical theory, and a wide range of topics and courses taught. His published research focuses on the cultural analysis of drama; his scholarship includes an edition of the Orrery's Henry the Fifth (1664), included in The Broadview Anthology of Restoration and Early Eighteenth Century Drama. He advises freshmen English majors and selected graduate students, and serves on the department’s curriculum committee.
He has directed the University Honors Program since 1999; he was the program's associate director from 1994-1998. He is the faculty representative for the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships. Among other committee work, he has served on the University Committee for General Education, as chair of the Student Financial Aid Committee, as president of the Alpha of Idaho chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, and as chair of the Juntura Committee.
