Licensing Process

The University of Idaho has partnered with the Collegiate Licensing Company, (CLC) to handle the administration of the licensing of our trademarks. There is a wealth of information on their website. Feel free to peruse it. But if you still have questions feel free to give me a call.

If you are new to licensing, I would recommend you fill out the product review that is part of the application. This will give you another set of eyes to evaluate your product and the probability of success. There are three phases in the licensing process.

  1. Phase I: Complete and submit a CLC licensing application.
  2. Phase II: Submit designs and/or samples incorporating the marks of the institution(s); obtain product liability insurance; purchase CLC holograms per the labeling requirements; complete product specification sheets; and complete Authorized Manufacturer’s Agreement (if applicable).
  3. Phase III: Execute the CLC Standard Retail Product License Agreement and the CLC Special Agreement regarding Labor Codes of Conduct; provide factory site disclosure, and pay all advance and administrative fees.
We are always looking for unique items to add to our assortment. I look forward to working with you.
