Registering for Classes

Each semester you and your advisor will choose classes to take during the next semester. You register for classes through your VandalWeb account. Make sure you understand the information found on the Office of the Registrar’s Registration website.
  • How to Read the Online Class Schedule
Deciphering the online class schedule can be a challenge. Use your mouse to roll over the red highlighted areas below to view explanations about various sections. View the Class Schedule Glossary for more details (located near the bottom of the page).

  • Using VandalWeb to Register
Navigate to VandalWeb and login by entering your net ID (this is the set of letters and numbers you use to log on to University computers, log in to your Vandal email account and check BbLearn) as your Net ID and your PIN and click the Login button. You may, alternatively, use your Active Directory Username and Password for your login to VandalWeb. Please refer to the instructions for setting up your VandalWeb account if you are a new user.

There are registration deadlines each semester; VandalWeb will not be available for registration actions beyond the noted deadlines.

All registration actions require the student to click the Submit Changes button in order to process and save the requested action.
  • Registration Checklist

    • Classes - Do you know who your advisor is and are your registered?
    • Accommodations - Do you know where you are going to live?
    • Money - Do you know how you will pay for college? Have you accepted your financial aid and scholarships? Do you still need help from the Financial Aid Office?

You can make purchases at numerous campus locations including the UI Bookstore, food outlets, laundry machines, copy centers - and receive discounts for many purchases!

    Print Class Schedule

Print your class schedule from VandalWeb the day before classes begin to verify classroom assignments.

    Attending Classes

Be sure to go to class so that you are not dropped for non-attendance.
