All undergraduate degree-seeking students attending the University of Idaho must complete the General Education Curriculum requirements. Students may complete either UI General Education or State Board of Education Core requirements based on their admittance to the University of Idaho:
- Students who begin their education at the University of Idaho with fewer than 14 transferable college credits are admitted as first-year students and placed on the UI General Education Curriculum for the school year in which they were admitted. (e.g., A student admitted for the Fall 2009 semester must complete the UI General Education for the 2009-2010 catalog year.)
- Transfer students may choose to complete either the UI General Education Curriculum or the State Board of Education Core requirements.
Students with questions about their General Education requirements should contact their academic advisor. A Change of General Education Form
is required for those eligible to change their Core option.
