Pre-Nursing

There are many different career options within the field of nursing, such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Midwife (CNM), and Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Students are encouraged to explore these different career options in order to determine which is the best fit for their personal aspirations. Information about nursing careers can be found here: RNtoBSN.

Admission to a school of nursing involves meeting satisfactorily its entrance requirements, acceptable scholastic records or a satisfactory score on the nursing admission test, and possession of personal qualifications essential for effective nursing. Nursing schools differ in their prerequisites, so students should carefully investigate the requirements of their school of choice.

The following two-year program is suggested for students who plan to transfer to a school of nursing in pursuit of a BSN.
