Use our UI pre-health advising program to prepare you for application to your preferred professional health school (medicine, dentistry, physician assistant, pharmacy, optometry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and medical laboratory scientist). Our advisers will help you choose a degree program, select the right courses, develop first- hand knowledge of the profession, and gain significant clinical and shadowing experience. Your experience at the University of Idaho will be tailored to your interests and prepare you for the application process to the health profession school of your choice.

Take biology, chemistry, physics, math, and English courses; and also try to shadow health care professionals and volunteer in clinical settings.
Most pre-health professional programs require the completion of a 4-year degree and then the completion of an additional 2-4 year specialized program of study.
Lab fees vary according to the number and type of lab courses required in each pre-health program.
