In order to apply as a graduate student, applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. Bachelor degree.

Graduate Admissions at the University of Idaho uses a variety of sources to determine equivalencies. It is important to note that the list of equivalencies below is not complete, but rather represents the most common credentials we receive from each country.

 1. Clear, legible photocopies of all diplomas or degree certificates issued in English by the institutions attended

e.g. Bachelor, Master, Ph.D.


Academic transcripts showing all subjects completed and all grades awarded for all post-secondary programs of study
For applicants based in the USA:
Please contact the Cultural Office within the Embassy of Iraq to have your documents authenticated. Please request that after the authentication has been completed, the authenticated documents be sent directly to UI by the Iraqi Cultural Office.

For applicants based outside of the USA:

Have your academic transcript sent directly to UI by the institution you attended if this service is provided by your institution.

Note: Credentials are acceptable only when they are issued by, and received from, authorized educational institutions. Some institutions will not send official documents. If this is the case, a professional credential evaluation will be required.

Precise, word-for-word, English translations are required for all foreign language documents.
