Orientation Information for Parents & Families
Thank you for participating in Parent & Family Orientation. Parent & Family Orientation will provide you with information that will assist you in continuing to be great mentors to your Vandals. We are eager to partner with you and your student on this exciting educational endeavor.
Opening weekend will be very exciting for you and your student, mixed with just a bit of anxiety for all involved. That is completely okay as this is the beginning of the next stage of life for your Vandal and your family. We stand ready to provide assistance throughout the University of Idaho experience for both you and your student.
You can stay in contact with the University of Idaho by using one of the following options:
- Visit the UI Parents Website at www.uidaho.edu/parents to gather information and subscribe to the parents newsletter.
- Use the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org to connect with the Dean of Students Office about questions you may have.
We understand that this is a significant life event for you and your family. We also understand that this is a substantial investment of time and family resources. We are deeply committed to helping your Vandal navigate the opportunities ahead and look forward to partnering with you so that your students academic and personal goals may be achieved.
Fall 2017 Information
It is an expectation of the University that all new students, including those participating in Greek Recruitment, sign up for and take part in New Student Orientation.
New Student Orientation begins on Thursday, Aug 17, 2017 with Residence Hall Move In, Convocation, and the New Vandal Scramble. Orientation programming and events will continue through Sunday, August 20, 2017.
Parent and Family Orientation Programs will begin the evening of Thursday, August 17, 2017. Dean of Students, Dr. Blaine Eckles with host Dessert with the Dean; a reception and welcome to the University. Parent and Family Programs will continue through the afternoon of Friday, August 18, 2017.
