Donating to Operation Education
In the fall of 2007, the Phi Delta Theta fraternity sold t-shirts to support the Vandal football team. A portion of the proceeds were donated to Operation Education.
The Phi Delta Theta fraternity also donated proceeds from the fraternity’s annual Turtle Derby.
Mark Cochran, an alumnus, raised funds for Operation Education when he competed in the Coeur d'Alene Triathlon in 2007.
During previous Homecoming celebrations, patrons could visit select businesses in Moscow during the evening hours; a portion of the proceeds from purchases were given to Opeartion Education.
Services Several businesses around town have donated their services to Operation Education scholars. These services have ranged from counseling to tax preparation.
Charley Jones, owner of Stinker Stores, provided an unlimited gas card to provide fuel to the university's Vandal Access Shuttle as part of the Operation Education Scholarship Program.
Wedding Registry In January 2008, two Army officers who never attended the University of Idaho ‘registered’ the Operation Education Scholarship Program on their wedding website. Meagan Bacharach and Chris Rizzo asked their guests to donate to Operation Education, as well as the Special Operations Warrior Foundation in lieu of gifts.
