The Martin Institute

Welcome to the homepage for the Martin Institute, a dynamic teaching, research, and outreach center at the University of Idaho dedicated to understanding the causes of war, the conditions necessary for peace, and the international system. On these pages you’ll read about the vision of the Institute’s founders, Boyd and Grace Martin, and how the Institute has worked to implement that vision via a host of endeavors since 1979. Partnerships with the Borah Committee, the Program in International Studies, and the Martin School are but a few of the lasting contributions to emerge in the ensuing years.
