Identification of markets and economic strategies to enhance Idaho's competitiveness and access to foreign agricultural markets. Collection of information regarding market potential and characteristics in socialist type and Pacific Rim economies. Identification of cost effective approaches to possible removal of China's quarantine on shipments of wheat from the Pacific Northwest. Publications in a range of outlets including American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Maritime Policy and Management, and other refereed professional journals. Editorship of a book on East-West agricultural trade, and numerous articles in bulletins on agricultural trade and marketing topics. Teaching related to international agricultural trade and development, agricultural market and price analysis, mathematical economics and economic theory.
