40.20 - Facilities - General Information

A. General. Facilities exercises stewardship of physical resources by maintaining, managing, and operating buildings, grounds, infrastructure, and utilities. Emphasis is made to ensure their productive use and enjoyment by present and future students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the local community. [ed. 12-10]

A-1. Operational Organization. Facilities is a service organization which is dedicated to providing the university community with clean, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing surroundings that contribute positively to the learning experience of students and the teaching, research, and service activities of faculty and staff.   • Elevator Maintenance and Trouble Calls

  • Keys
  • Landscape and Exterior Services
  • Lighting & Electrical
  • Painting
  • Recycling, Surplus and Solid Waste Programs
  • Reprographics Services
  • Shop Stores
  • Storage
  • Street and Sidewalk Maintenance and Snow Removal
  • Utilities

B. Process. The Customer Service Center serves as the contact point for all services provided by Facilities. Requests for service can be made by calling (208) 885-6246, or by e-mail at: Facilities Email [ed. 12-10]

C. Procedures. Service After Normal Working Hours. Facilities has voice mail service that either takes a message for the appropriate person the next working day, or in case of an emergency, directs the caller to the Power Plant at (208) 885-6271 or Emergency 9-911 for immediate service. [ed. 12-10]
