Discover Idaho International Tuition Waiver

To qualify for this waiver, you must have either a high school or college transfer Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least a 3.25. All qualified students are guaranteed to receive this tuition waiver. This waiver is renewable if a 2.8 cumulative University of Idaho GPA is maintained.

There are two categories:

  • 3.25-3.59 GPA: $1,500 tuition waiver, renewable for up to four years
  • 3.6-4.0 GPA: $3,500 tuition waiver, renewable for up to four years

International Tuition Waivers

Students must have a 3.0 GPA and be pursuing a bachelor's degree to be eligible. The award amount is $6,500/year, renewable for up to 4 years. Preference given to underrepresented student populations. The number of awards is dependent on available funding each year.

Dates and Deadlines

The priority date to apply for one of these waivers is February 15 of each year for an award to begin the subsequent fall semester. By submitting an application for the University of Idaho on or before the priority date, students will also be automatically considered for departmental merit waivers.

Tuition waiver scholarships for the subsequent fall semester may be awarded to students who apply after the February 15 priority date if there is additional funding available. However, those who comply with the priority date of February 15 will be given first priority.

Scholarships and waivers may be available for students who apply to enter during the spring semester if funds remain after the fall awards are assigned. First priority is given to students who enter in the fall semester.

Graduate students are encouraged to apply to their department for a Teaching Assistantship (TA) or a Research Assistantship (RA). Each department is responsible for awarding their own TAs and/or RAs. Please discuss TA and RA opportunities with your department. More information can also be found here.
