Admission into the Program

Admission to graduate programs in the department is based upon an estimate of probable success in research and courses that lead to a specific graduate degree as indicated by the application, letter of intent, transcripts, and letters of recommendation. Research interests expressed in each applicant's letter of intent are important because that information is compared with the focal research areas in the department to determine academic compatibility. In addition, research goals are used to identify prospective graduate faculty mentors. The list of graduate faculty that are actively recruiting for the next academic year is indicated below.
