Certificates

The Bioinformatics and Computational Biology department offers two graduate certificates - one in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) and one in Professional Applications in Data Science.

The graduate certificate in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) will provide graduate students who are pursuing graduate degrees in other areas with recognition for taking multiple courses of the BCB curriculum, and thus building a strong foundation in bioinformatics and computational biology.

The graduate certificate in Professional Application in Data Science is ideal for academic or industry professionals whose work requires a stronger background in understanding, organizing, and visualizing data.  It allows students to customize their learning using data sets from their own discipline or industry, and they create a real-world data science portfolio to demonstrate their expertise and broaden their career perspectives.

To Enroll

To enroll, please refer to the College of Graduate Studies certificate program application instructions.

Current graduate-degree-seeking University of Idaho students should submit the Academic Certificate Declaration on page 2 of the Change of Curriculum form to the corresponding program coordinator for director approval.
