Jessica Millward is pleased to join the University of Idaho College of Law’s faculty. After graduating from American University, Washington College of Law, she joined Montana Legal Services Association as an Equal Justice AmeriCorps Law Fellow, serving for two years. During that time, she served clients through a Medical-Legal Partnership and worked on public benefits, housing, and other matters. She then became a staff attorney at Montana Legal Services, practicing in the area of public benefits and reinvigorating the firm’s Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker program. In her last year at Montana Legal Services, she served as an interim managing attorney. She next moved to Washington, DC and joined Georgetown University Law Center’s Health Justice Alliance, a Medical-Legal Partnership, as a Clinical Teaching Fellow. There, she and her students served clients who were unhoused and/or high school students in a variety of civil legal matters including special education, disability, public benefits, and housing. In 2019, she joined American University, Washington College of Law as a Practitioner-in-Residence, teaching and supervising student attorneys in the Civil Advocacy Clinic, which focuses on civil legal solutions to economic injustice. Additionally, she taught poverty law and elder law. Professor Millward’s scholarly interests focus on clinical teaching, and the intersection of health and poverty. When not working, she enjoys being outside, gardening, mending, and spending time with her husband and two children.
