Citation Frequently Asked Questions

All citations are eligible for appeal up to 15 days after receipt. Citations older than 15 days or with a denied appeal journalize (get moved) to our student or employee account.

To appeal a citation, enter citation number and license plate at PTS Online Services.

Yes, after submitting your appeal online you will receive an automated email response confirming that your appeal was submitted successfully. After your appeal is submitted it will remain in an "adjudication pending" status until the appeal is reviewed by the Parking Committee.

An appeal should be submitted for each individual citation number, even if the appeal statement is the same.

The Parking Committee appeal decision will be emailed to the email address you provided. If no email address was provided, you will receive a letter in the mail.

Unpaid citations may be sent to collections, prevent you from purchasing a permit the following year, prevent you from registering for classes, incur additional discovery fees, and/or make your vehicle eligible for wheel lock or impound.

Citations issued within the last 15 days can be paid online by visiting PTS Online Services. Citations older than 15 days can be paid at the Parking Office, at the Cashier Office in the Bruce M. Pitman Center or by mailing a check to:

No. Once a citation has been appealed, payment is not required unless notification is received that the appeal was denied, payment would be due at that time. The Parking Committee meets once a month; it can take up to six weeks to receive the adjudication decision.

All parking citations must be paid or appealed within 15 days from the citation issuance date. After 15 days the final option is to pay the fine. Unpaid citations may be sent to collections, may prevent you from purchasing a permit the following year, may prevent you from registering for classes, and/or may make your vehicle eligible for wheel lock or impound.

The Parking Committee meets once a month during the academic year and does not meet during the summer break. For this reason, notification of the committee's decision may take up to six weeks from the date an appeal is submitted, during the academic year and more than six weeks for appeals submitted very late in the spring semester or during the summer break.
