Found Money Fund

The Found Money Fund of Idaho was established in 1981 with three pennies found on the sidewalk. The idea is credited to Terry Armstrong and Carol (Yenni) Wilson. In four decades, those first three pennies have grown to more than $438,000.

All found money is invested in the University of Idaho Foundation’s central endowment pool and will be available for use at the university’s bicentennial in 2089, when the fund is expected to be worth an estimated $30 million. The endowment distributions will be used in perpetuity to support programs and enhance opportunities for students and faculty at the University.

How to participate

Find a penny, nickel or quarter on the ground? Have some loose change in a desk drawer? Pick it up for the University of Idaho.

All donations can be brought to the University of Idaho Foundation, Inc. (Mary Forney Hall, Room 102). Off-campus donations can be mailed to University of Idaho Foundation, Inc., c/o Found Money Fund, 875 Perimeter Drive MS3143, Moscow, ID 83844-3143. You can also use the online gift form to transfer your found money to the fund.

Thank you for investing in the University of Idaho.
