Annuals are plants that only live for one growing season. Annual flowers can add a lot of color and variety to a landscape, especially because they must be replanted or changed out each year. Many gardeners in Idaho find it fun to start annual seeds indoors so that when the warm weather arrives, they can plant out already blooming plants.
