Stone Scholars Computer Science Assistantship in Coeur d’Alene

The Stone Scholars assistantship will be awarded annually to support students enrolled in the Computer Science program at the University of Idaho Coeur d’Alene Center.

Undergraduate Assistantship Details

Award Amount: variable; currently a maximum of $4,750 for one student; up to five student recipients may receive Stone Scholars awards. Awards depend on continued availability of funds.

The Stone Scholars will work with faculty as research assistants and provide assistance on projects throughout the fall and spring semesters. Stone Scholars will gain valuable mentoring, project management and research experience. The student and faculty member will work together on various projects, as determined by the faculty member, such as developing new laboratory facilities, laboratory assistance, working on research projects, and helping with class preparation.

This assistantship will make a significant impact on the student recipients’ ability to gain skills and experience while managing the costs incurred with post-secondary education. The assistantship will also strengthen faculty research efforts and the overall program goals.

The assistantship is for a lump sum payment of $2375 per semester. In consultation with the faculty mentor, student recipients will determine a volunteer work schedule.

Award Requirements

Undergraduate students receiving this award must meet the following qualifications:

• Computer Science undergraduate student enrolled in the Coeur d’Alene program.
• Enrollment in at least one UI class, but taking a minimum of 12 credits total.
• Minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA.
• Submit the application online.
