Mentor and Supervisor Resources

Mentor and Supervisor Resources

The student teacher (intern), the mentor teacher and the university supervisor all contribute to a successful field experience. The mentor teacher has a tremendous influence on the student teacher. Please review the Internship Handbook.

The resources provided in this section are designed to support the mentor teacher and to provide easy access to supervisory materials. Contact the placement coordinator in your area for additional information.

Supervisor

The supervisor is a key contributor serving as the university's liaison between the teacher education program, the mentor teacher and the student. The supervisor assumes many responsibilities including observer, mentor, counselor and all around "trouble-shooter."

Questions?

Prospective mentors and supervisors should email Taylor Raney (tcraney@uidaho.edu), for a packet that will include information on responsibilities, evaluation methods, tips for mentoring, and suggested timelines.
