IDEAS Student Research Symposium
All events will be held virtually on April 4 & 5, 2024.
What is the IDEAS Student Research Symposium?
A statewide virtual live event showcasing the research, scholarship and creative works of University of Idaho College of Education, Health and Human Sciences graduate and undergraduate students.
Who should participate?
All U of I students who have a faculty mentor in EHHS may submit a proposal for potential participation in the event (suggested proposal format below).
- Any student with a project in process or completed project.
- All presentations will be given by a single student presenter, although multiple authors/contributors are allowable.
- Submissions can include a project, research or creative work that is focused on a topic within EHHS (education, leadership, exercise, sport, dance, recreation, health, etc.)
- Multiple students from a larger research project can submit for possible presentations as long as each submission can be a standalone research presentation (i.e. not the same research question).

This event will be available by registration using Symposium by ForagerOne. Registration will open in March.
When is the event?
The event will occur on April 4 and 5, 2024.
Why would I participate?
Not only do you get the unique opportunity to show your project among your peers to others, but there are awards for top oral and poster presentations and people's choice.
Awards
Undergraduate Students
- $150 for undergrad oral presentation
- $125 for undergrad oral project in progress
- $100 for undergrad poster
- $75 for undergrad poster project in progress
Overall Grad or Undergrad
- $50 for overall people's choice
Graduate Students
- $450 grad oral presentation
- $400 grad oral project in progress
- $350 for grad poster
- $300 for grad poster project in progress
How much does it cost?
The event is free and open to the public.
How do I participate?
- Submit a proposal by March 15.
- Proposal will be reviewed and selected.
- If selected, prepare presentation.
- Present.
The submissions window will be open February 12 until March 15. All participants will be notified of presentation type and schedule around March 22.

Poster Guidelines
- Presentation is 1.5 hour Q&A via virtual chat
- Fewer words is recommended
- Use of imaginry or picture to explain your project process is recommend

Oral Guidelines
- Presentation is live on Zoom for 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes of Q&A
