Philosophy, Politics and Economics

There are few institutions more powerful in the present day than money and the law. Governments create money, and so create economies; economic activity has a life of its own and affects the decisions of governments. Philosophers have investigated how best to organize these institutions since Plato in The Republic. Questions about the intersection of philosophy, politics and economics are as live today as they were in Plato’s time, and students pursuing the PPE Minor will have the opportunity to study them in an interdisciplinary setting.
