Associate Professor Xu has secured more than $4.5 million in federal funding and is the founding principal investigator of the Idaho ECHO Project. In addition, she works extensively with the business community, providing companies of different sizes with supply chain and operations consulting and solutions. 

Associate Professor performs interdisciplinary research in four areas, which she tackles from international- and cross-cultural perspectives:

  1. Sustainability, Diversity, Equity, and Governmental-related issues in supply chains;
  2. Additive manufacturing and operation;
  3. Healthcare supply chain coordination and integration;
  4. Supply chain education and talent development.

Her research methodological expertise includes

  1. Mathematical programming and optimization,
  2. Business analytics and data visualization,
  3. Stochastic simulation,
  4. Theory building and systematic literature review.
