Program Applications

Nationally accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), our program offers the only bachelor’s degree in interior architecture and design (BIAD) in Idaho. The BIAD is a four-year CIDA accredited degree; to meet the professional standards two review gates/application processes are established: one between first and second year and one between second and third year. These application and review processes ensure that students have achieved required competencies, maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA, earned a C or above in all IAD studios and successfully completed necessary prerequisites for entering the next phase of their degree.

  • All applications are completed online at the end of the spring semester by the specified due date. Results are communicated in early June.
  • Students may not be able to register for specific studios or co-requisite in the second or third year until admitted to that year.
  • If a student is not admitted to the year sought, the student remains in the program; He/She/they will receive notification and advice on course of action to address any unmet requirements or deficiencies and can reapply the following year.
  • Transfer students, as well as others not meeting the curriculum sequence, can submit an additional document to accompany their application for consideration by the review committee. The document should clarify and explain any exceptional circumstances for unmet requirements and plans to meet them prior to the next review.

Bootcamp: Students planning to participate in Summer Design Boot Camp between first and second year should submit a second-year application in May and then submit a third-year application and portfolio by August (last week of Design Bootcamp). Admission reviews will be done shortly after, and notification sent to students before the second week of August.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. It is your responsibility to check your application and supporting materials thoroughly to be certain you have met all the requirements.
