Autism

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that 1 in 36 children in the United States have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). American Academy of Pediatric guidelines state that early diagnosis and early intervention have significant outcomes.

Led by a panel of subject matter experts in pediatric family practice, developmental pediatrics, pediatric psychology, speech pathology, patient care coordination and parent advocacy, our series will enhance your competencies and provide the opportunity to learn best practices for screening and treating ASD in pediatric care.

Participating in ECHO Idaho also helps you connect with other peers statewide to identify approaches and resources for advancing whole patient care and receive insightful, interdisciplinary feedback on complex patient cases. These sessions are designed to be collaborative, engaging and immediately applicable to your practice.

To view session recordings for this series, please visit ECHO Idaho's YouTube channel.

12:30 - 2 p.m. Mountain Time, the second and fourth Thursdays of every month.

ECHO Idaho's full series schedule is available here.

The target audience is primary care providers (MD, DO, PA, NP, RN, etc.), but all clinicians and behavioral health specialists are welcome.

Participation in ECHO Idaho is free.

Beginning in April, this series will transition to our new software platform. All other series are planned to transition starting in June. The new software, Ethos CE, will require participants to create an account and register for the sessions to access the session information and Zoom links. Those planning to attend the Autism series in April can find additional information and helpful resources here.

No-Cost Accredited Continuing Education: ECHO Idaho offers free accredited continuing education credits (CE). CE credit is available for participating in live sessions only, not for watching recorded sessions (unless otherwise indicated). Professional Development: Participants gain new skills and competencies for managing patients.

Creating Community: Clinician teams can increase professional satisfaction and decrease isolation, thus creating a sense of community.

Increased Patient Satisfaction: Patients can continue to work with their trusted clinician instead of traveling long distances to be seen by a specialist.

Improved Quality of Care: Health care professionals who participate in ECHO increase their knowledge and self-efficacy.

ECHO Idaho is led by the University of Idaho and the WWAMI Medical Education Program.
