  • What is Paint the Palouse?
    Paint the Palouse is an annual community service program put on by the University of Idaho Residence Halls. The program provides community members who are unable to paint their homes, due to financial or health/age barriers, the opportunity to have their homes painted free of charge by volunteers.

  • When is Paint the Palouse?
    Date: September 2015 (check back for exact date soon)
    Time: 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (shifts will be given to volunteers)
    Location: Tower Lawn (Starting location)

  • How do I become a Paint the Palouse Volunteer?
    You must complete the volunteer form up to two weeks prior to the event either as an individual or a group.  Complete the form today to volunteer!

  • What is the time commitment to volunteer for Paint the Palouse?
    Once you complete the volunteer form, we will be in contact with you regarding your volunteer shift.  Shifts are usually 2 hours long, however most people end up volunteering longer.  The event usually starts at 8 a.m. and ends around 3 p.m.

  • What do I receive for Volunteering for Paint the Palouse?
    All volunteers receive a free t-shirt and food!

    Paint the Palouse also fulfills the service component of the Vandal Edge Program.

  • How do I apply to have my House painted?
    Anyone that is interested in having their House painted, will need to complete the application form by May 1st.

  • How are houses selected for painting?
    A team of Paint the Palouse representatives rank all house applications based on need, house size, and ability to complete the job within the Paint the Palouse parameters.  Once you have applied to have your house painted, we will be in contact to view your residence to assess the work needed.  Once the final decision is made, all applicants will be notified within the month of June.

    In past years we have been able to paint more than one home due to our generous sponsors!

  • What donations are needed?

    We accept donations in the forms of food, painting supplies and money.

    There are three levels of Sponsorship opportunities through Paint the Palouse. These levels include:

    • Vandal Level- $50-$499 or equivalent- Your organization's name and logo on event website 
    • Silver Level- $500-$749 or equivalent- The Vandal Level benefits, plus your organization's name and logo on event t-shirts 
    • Gold Level- $750 and higher or equivalent- The Silver Level benefits, plus a sign with your organization's name and logo in a PTP House yard during the event
