Student Orientation

Please check back at the beginning of May for the Fall 2012 New Student Orientation detailed schedule.

New Student Orientation will take place from August 16 - 19, 2012 with Parent Orientation events on August 16th through 17th. We will also be holding Parent Orientation events for the parents of students who participate in sorority recruitment on August 9th and for the parents of students who participate in fraternity recruitment on August 15th.

Get connected with the apps you need to navigate the UI social scene focusing on alcohol and relationships. All students are expected to attend and will receive a UI planner at this event.

    The University President Chuck Staben will officially welcome you to campus. A keynote speaker to be announced will address the UI Community.

    Gain valuable info, resources, and tools to make positive choices as a new Vandal through an interactive, entertaining presentation. All new Greek students are expected to attend. Attend this session to receive a UI planner.

    Games, food, and fun! Meet other students, explore the Rec Center, and choose from dozens of activities and games to play.

    Attend your very first service project and participate in tree planting, watershed restoration, elementary school repairs, food drive efforts, trail maintenance, and much more! This is an excellent way to get to know other new students and your new city. Attend the session assigned to your living group. All new students are encouraged to attend. see pop out #8
